 I AM A SUPERHERO

In 2006-2007, thousands of children nationwide created comic books on the theme: "I Am a Superhero." The project enabled youths to think critically about important issues in their lives and communities, and to devise some very creative solutions. The project resulted in several city- and state-wide publications like the ones below, which you can download as PDF documents.

Find out how to get the student templates and publications here.

Activity Booklet

An introduction to making a comic book, including simple drawing techniques, dialogue, sequencing, and (above all), being creative!

Comic Book Canvas

A template for designing and producing the comic book. The canvas includes blank panels for children to create their foregrounds and backgrounds, write the dialogue, and design a cover.

Student Publications

Along with the project templates, you will receive recent student publications from The Comic Book Project. These tangible outcomes are motivational and inspirational for children new to the process!
